I'm really curious about the process for this. Do you reach out to the poets themselves, the magazines or do you post them based on the fact that they are publicly available online? The behind the scenes makes me curious.
My first book of poetry emerged on January 24 this year.Ive done three readings with more on the way and several radio shows. Ive been writing mostly fiction and some poems since I was 12 in Brooklyn and had a sonorous vision while returning home on the F trqin.
In my book there is a very short poem -six lines that many people from all walks of lIife vastly admire even though the incident is devastating.
A young Ukranian, a year ago, issued a call for a solidarity anthology with writers from around the world. I sent three or four; he took two, and thank me profusely.Later I received axeroxed certficate thanking me for my participation in th anthology but it's still in its beginning stages of being weeded through.Whoknows when it see fruition. Here's what I sent m.corbic, the 21 year old

THE BOMB
I went out for pizza,
And ate all my blood.
I went to m buy shoes,
And saw my foot fly through the air.
Hold me,mother.
For the last time, hold me.
I love the exposure you give these poems and that your provide me, as a reader. Thank you.
Beautiful poems. Startling and gripping.
Recently published in the Rat's Ass Review. It surprised even me.

A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE
Yesterday afternoon when walking home
from a trip to the grocery store,
I passed an apartment building
with the basement window shades open.
Lying on her bed was a young girl
frantically masturbating.
In the blink of an eye, I assessed
she was almost there; however,
I didn’t tarry for the finale.
I mean, what’s the point?
One needs to be blissfully young
or achingly desperate
to fully savor such an endeavor.
From either side of the window.
I never got enough of this Shay Alexi poem. They have such a tremendous power in the style they use.
